Tullibardine Chinook Sled Dogs
Carrying the Northdown legacy to new Chinook generations

In fall of 1992, after Jack R. Murray and his sister Susan had been approved as Chinook owners by Harry Gray, they were put on the waiting list for a puppy from a litter expected by Les and Roxanna Morse, of Belfast, ME. However, Harry called early, having had an unexpected litter out of Paleface, due to a "broken chain romance." There began the tale of Tullibardine Chinooks, in two pups by North Wind Nome out of Northdown Paleface 'Puffer', the litterbrothers Northdown Ootah and Denali II. Quite a number of Chinooks and years later, in 1999 in New Sharon, ME, Ootah successfully sired the first Tullibardine Chinook litter, out of our then four year old Chinook bitch, Perry Greene Natanis (Northdown Kipper x Northdown Nugget). As the New Year of 2008 turns we are now raising our 7th Tullibardine Litter. All the rest is history, as they say...
Northdown Kennels -- The Harry Gray Tradition
Harry Gray's Northdown kennels were very much a part of the turbulent years following the '1982 Rescue' and prior to the '1990s UKC Chinook'. From 1987 until 1994 Harry was both inbreeding and crossbreeding on his remaining healthy purebred Chinooks. Today, Tullibardine Chinooks in numerous ways passes on the Northdown Legacy, directly on our Northdown Ootah leading lines as well as on our Northdown Nugget tail lines. Another of our kennel founders, Howlin Hills Fox Maule Ramsay, is out of Northdown Natasha, herself from Harry's last Chinook breeding in 1994. So Harry remains very much with us in Spirit and in our Chinooks here at Tullibardine in 2008.
Our New Home in Manitoba
Tullibardine Chinooks has now moved from Maine to the beautiful Parkland region of central Manitoba in Canada. In a word; it's PARADISE! We hope to set up Chinook guest accommodations too, perhaps as early as summer of 2008! So please visit our 'announcements' page often!
